To Be Loved and Treasured
Through the years I have had many dogs all of which were a big part of my life. They were my family. Most of them are no longer living and with their passing I experienced the same loss as a beloved family member.
I have friends who have lost dogs and swear they will never get another pet. To me, getting another dog to love is not replacing the pet you’ve lost, but honoring that dog by giving another a chance to be loved and treasured for as long as they remain on this earth.
The heartache I felt when I lost my first little fox terrier was not washed away by another dog, but having another dog to care for helped me cope with my loss.
I still miss my little “Sweetheart” but she and all the others I have lost have a special place in my heart and I suspect they always will.

I agree with you. Pets in general are “so worth it.” Sometimes I don’t know what I would do without my pets. Especially when I feel down in the dumps or just need a shoulder, my little sweet dog Tipsy is always there for me. That’s the great things about dogs. They can sense how you feel and are good at comforting. The unconditional love is great as well.
